While last week was not the best food-wise (really, I should be getting the number to Chocoholics Anonymous), I had a great week fitness wise.  I had a number of post-Disney-Marathon firsts.  I ran outside for the first time since the race; I did yoga for the first time since the race; I did my first post-marathon race.  It was good.
Saturday morning, the Al Gordon Classic 4 miler in Prospect Park seemed daunting.  There were going to be high winds and it seemed very very chilly.  Not only that but we were all feeling a tad discombobulated.

We managed to start though, and I got through the race fairly easily as I spent the whole time chatting with a friend.  So, despite the brisk wind and the early morning, I managed to shave off a little time from last year’s.  I followed up the race with brunch with a friend at Siggy’s and spent the evening at an ROAR with Laughter for a delightful Saturday.

Sunday I woke up with plans of doing an 8 mile run.  When the dogs looked at me, pleading that I not leave them, my plans changed and I bundled them up in their coats.  We headed out for a 5K trail run and relatively steep hike.  Such a blast!!

If I just decrease the chocolate a tad, I’ll be doing well! So… for this week, here’s the schedule:

Monday 2/27: Yoga (I know! Strange not to see Rest for Monday.  But as I didn’t do a long run on Sunday and I took last Friday as a rest day, AND as I’m not doing yoga on Tuesday, I figured I’d try a new class!)

Tuesday 2/28: Run 4.5 miles Speed Workout with 8x400 at 5K Pace

Wednesday 2/29: Elliptical 45 minutes + Strengthtrain + Core Work

Thursday 3/1 (How is it March already??): Run 5 miles w/ 6x1 min Hill Repeats + Strengthtrain

Friday 3/2: Rest

Saturday 3/3: Run 9 Miles + Core Work + Weights

Sunday 3/4: Coogan’s Salsa, Blues, and Shamrocks 5K

Have a fit, fun, foodie week everyone!
