After vacation and after my so-called recovery period from the Disney Marathon… AND, after being sick, I’m finally getting back to a normal routine.  I’ve been going to the gym; I’ve been running; I’ve been eating better; I’m finally getting back into my groove.  As a pseudo-reward, and a bigger push, this past weekend, up in Vermont, was an even bigger wellness weekend.  It was what I needed.

I spent the weekend skiing (with a bunch of my closest girlfriends), running, working out in the gym, and swimming.  Not only that, but I sweat out stress and toxins in the hot tub while the snow drifted past and then in the sauna.

We laughed and caught up.  We spent Saturday evening at the Okemo Mountain School Wine, Cheese, and Beer tasting, which benefitted the school.  From there, the evening turned to dancing, flirting, and a fun night out for most of the girls (ok…. or a relatively early night in for me as I was exhausted from skiing, running, and more!).

The weekend with the girls culminated with more running and an impromptu brunch of 2 pounds of bacon, short-order eggs, bagels, fresh baked bread, biscotti, and berries.  Perfect for some ladies who had a few too many the night before and for those who got up early to ski, run, or just relax.

I managed to make it back to CT just in time to meet my mother for Sunday night wine night and family catch up.  A delightful weekend all-in-all, that prepped me for what I hope will be a wonderful week of continued good training and positive health.  Not only that, but also, the first race back after the Disney Marathon.
